Charging Error 17/ Error 23: All Roomba® and Braava® models

Both charging error seventeen (17) and error twenty-three (23) mean that the battery may not be an authentic iRobot one.

Note: Confirm that you are using an authentic iRobot® Lithium-Ion battery. This charging error and others can occur with aftermarket-purchased batteries.  

If the message persists, perform a robot reboot.

If the message persists after the reboot, and your battery is an authentic iRobot one, please contact iRobot Customer Care.

For expedited service, please ensure that you have the following:
    • Your robot charged and with you.
    • Your robot’s serial number.
    • For warranty claims: Proof of purchase (receipt or invoice for purchase from an authorised retailer).
