To keep Roomba running at peak performance please follow these essential maintenance procedures.

Empty the Bin

Press the bin release button and pull.


Clean the Filter Compartment

Replace the filter every 2 months.


Clean the Brushes

Excessive build up of hair in the brushes and brush bearings can permanently damage Roomba. Inspect brush bearings regularly. Do not attempt to run Roomba without the brush bearings. If you misplace the brush bearings, please contact iRobot Customer Care for replacement bearings.

For expedited service, please have the following ready:

  • Your robot charged and with you.
  • Your robot's Serial number.
  • For warranty claims: Proof of purchase (receipt). 

1. Remove the brush guard by lifting both yellow tabs.

2. Remove and clean the brushes.
* Brush Bearings
** Brush caps

3. Remove and clean hair and dirt from the yellow brush bearings.

4. Remove and clean the brush caps.
* Alignment Feature

5. Use the included cleaning tool to easily remove hair from the brushes.
