How do I replace the Roomba 800 and 900 series extractors and clean the cleaning head module?

Note:Your robot series may vary. These procedures will be the same for Roomba 800 and 900 series.

Extractors Replacement

  • Pinch the yellow extractor frame release tabs, lift up the extractor frame, and remove any obstructions.

  • When reinstalling the debris extractors, match the colour and shape of the extractor pegs with the colour and shape of the extractor icons on the cleaning head module.

    Note:Ensure the extractor frame is properly aligned.

Cleaning Head Module Care

For optimal performance, the cleaning head module should be regularly cleaned. Use the following procedure to maintain these items.

 
  1. Pinch the yellow extractor frame release tabs, lift up the extractor frame, and remove any obstructions.

  2. Ensure hair and debris is removed from the square and hex pegs of the extractors.

  3. Remove the extractor caps. Ensure any hair or debris that has collected on, or underneath the caps, and around the metal axles have been removed.

  4. Ensure the vacuum path is clear.

  5. When reinstalling the debris extractors, match the colour and shape of the extractor pegs with the colour and shape of the extractor icons on the cleaning head module.

    Note:Ensure the extractor frame is properly aligned.

  6. Spin the extractors to ensure they rotate freely. If the extractors do not rotate, you may need to replace them.
